PASSIVE FORM

KALIMAT PASIF : SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

Kalimat Pasif adalah kalimat yang subjeknya dikenai perbuatan.

Jika kalian ingin membuat kalimat pasif khususnya dalam kamimat simple present tense, kalian memerlukan is, am, are dan selalu memakai kata kerja bentuk ke-3/past participle. Berikut ini adalah formula dalam membuat membuat kalimat pasif dalam simple present tense:

Positif : Subjek + is/am/are + past participle/V3

For Ex. 
Aktif : Naura cooks pizza in the kitchen.

Pasif : pizza is cooked by Naura in the kitchen.

Negatif : Subjek + is/am/are + Not + Past Participle
For Ex.
Aktif : Naura doesn't cook pizza in the kitchen.
Pasif : Pizza is not cooked by Naura In the kitchen.

Pertanyaan : is/am/are + Subjek + Past Participle
For Ex. 
Aktif : Does Naura cook pizza in the kitchen?
Pasif : is pizza ccoked by Naura in the kitchen?

Pada kalimat pasif yang ditekankan adalah VERB-nya, dan tidak terlalu penting siapa yang melakukan perkejaan. Tapi akan lebih baik jika kita menambahkan pelaku dalam pekerjaan tersebut dengan menambahkan "by" sebelum pelaku.

For Ex.

meatball is cooked.

Pada kalimat diatas tidak terdapat kata “by…” dan kalimat pasif tersebut juga benar.

KALIMAT PASIF : SIMPLE PRESENT CONTINUOUS 

Coba perhatikan contoh kalimat berikut: 
ex. I am reading a magazine

diubah menjadi Pasif:
• a magazine is being read by me. ATAU
• a magazine is being read.

dalam kalimat diatas terlihat jelas perbedaan antara kalimat pasif di present tense dan di continuous tense yaitu adanya being. 

“a magazine” adalah Obyek yang berubah menjadi Subyek dalam kalimat pasif. si pekerja bisa dicantumkan bisa juga tidak, tapi lebih baik jika dicantumkan. dan jangan lupa ditambahkan being setelah TO BE.

Berikut ini adalah beberapa contoh kalimat continuous yang diubah ke pasif.
1. Active: she is reading a novel.
        Passive: A novel is being read by her.
2. Active: We are cooking chicken in the kitchen
Passive: chicken is being cooked by them in the kitchen
3. Active: They are watching a movie at mid night
Passive: a movie is being watched by them at mid night
4. Active: I am being eating delicious food today
Passive: delicious food is being eaten by me today
5. Active: The teacher is teaching math today.
Passive: Math is being taught by the teacher today
